The 14th Literature in Education Seminar, organized by Günışığı Kitaplığı, one of the major publishers of children’s and youth literature, was hosted online on Saturday, April 10. Hosted by FMV Işık Primary and Middle School, nearly 1000 teachers, education administrators, librarians, experts in literature and academics attended.
The opening speeches of the seminar were made by Ergun Karahasanoğlu, Coordinator of Feyziye Schools Foundation Process Development and Işık Internal Education Academy, and Ms. Mine Soysal, Editor-in-Chief of Günışığı Kitaplığı.
The first speech of the seminar titled ‘Educational Opportunities Created by the new Normal’ was given by Prof. Doc. Mustafa Özcan.
Throughout the day İrem Uşar, Gonca Özmen, Murat Yalçın, Müren Beykan, Berna Durmaz, Vladimir Tumanov, Müjgan Özçay and the popular writer Buket Uzuner also gave speeches.
In the creative reading practices component of the seminar, Gülce Karabaş, a classroom teacher at our school, shared her presentation, The World of Imagination with Volante the Flying Girl, which she prepared as a transdisciplinary collaboration with our second grade students.
