A VISIT TO THE “EXHIBITIONELEGANCE FROM THE PAST: WOMEN'S CLOTHING FROM THE LATE OTTOMAN EMPIRE TO THE EARLY YEARS OF THE REPUBLIC"
On March 5th, 2024, FMV Ayazağa Işık Science High School's Social Sciences Department organized a trip to the exhibition "Elegance from the Past" at Abdülmecit Efendi Mansion for 10th and 11th-grade students as part of International Women's Day celebrations.
The exhibition explores the transformation of women's roles through changing fashion trends, starting from the late 19th century when urban women began to adopt European fashion, and accelerating with the establishment of the Republic. A special section dedicated to the founder of our Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, is included in the exhibition, featuring 100 pieces in honor of Turkiye’s 100th anniversary.
We extend our gratitude to the students who participated in the exhibition and to the teachers who supported the trip.
