A group of our students from the 10th and 11th classes of FMV Işık Ayazağa High School and Science High School, accompanied by our philosophy teachers, attended a March 8 International Women’s Day event hosted online by Maltepe University.

During the event, moderated by professor Dr. Hülya ŞİMGA, a faculty member of the Department of Philosophy, the chairman of Maltepe University UNESCO Gender and Culture, the concept of gender was examined, along with how it is perceived in different ways in the world and in our country. The event also addressed problems faced by women in education, law and employment as revealed by statistical data.

In light of this event, where valuable speakers and our students met, we celebrate March 8 Women’s Day for all women, our students and teachers, and wish for a more free and equal future.
