Ceremony of “18 March Çanakkale Victory and Martyrs’ Day”
FMV Ayazağa Işık High School and Science High School has commemorated the 106th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory. On 18 March, 1915, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the hero of Anafarta, changed the course of history by leading the Turkish army to this unprecedented victory and ensuring the security and freedom of the country.
The ceremony organized for “18 March Çanakkale Victory and Martyrs’ Day” commenced with the laying of a wreath at the bust of Atatürk and a moment of silence, followed by an emotional speech given by the honourable school principal, Özgür Alper, to mark the significance of the date.
As part of the ceremony marking this victorious day - when Turkish nationality was reshaped and the words “Çanakkale is impassible!” were etched into history - students read poems and performed songs, filling the audience with pride.
On this 106th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory, we commemorate The Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his fellow fighters who are the nameless heroes of this grand victory, and all the martyrs once again on the 106th anniversary of Çanakkale Victory with profound respect and gratitude.
