CERN SCIENCE TRIP
FMV Ayazağa Işık High School and Science High School students took a scientific trip to the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) located in Geneva, Switzerland, from May 12th to May 15th, 2023. "CERN," which is the world's largest particle physics laboratory, was established in 1954 with the participation of 12 countries. The main goal of the conducted research is to understand the structure of matter and the forces that hold matter together, as well as to find answers to questions such as how the universe was formed and how particles acquire mass.
Accompanied by research staff working at CERN, our students gained information about the studies and demonstrated their potential as future scientists by asking questions about the experiments. By witnessing the work firsthand, our students increased their awareness and also contributed to the development of their general knowledge by visiting historical and natural sites in France and Switzerland.
