ONLINE GEOGRAPHY MEETINGS: “INTRODUCTION TO GEOMORPHOLOGY WITH PROF. CELAL ŞENGÖR”
On the 4th of March, 9th and 10th graders and geography teachers of all Işık High Schools came together with Prof. Celal ŞENGÖR, a graduate of Işık Middle School in 1969, for an “Introduction to Geomorphology”.
Prof. Şengör explained the structure and layers of the atmosphere and the distribution of temperature in the Earth’s atmosphere, as well as wind and significant weather events. Emphasizing the effects of climate change occurring at Amu Darya, Tarim Basin, Syr Darya, and the Aral Sea and giving examples of atmospheric storms, he highlighted the effects of wind on the Earth and human life according to the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale.
