On the 30th of March, 9th, 10th and 11th graders came together with Prof. Celâl ŞENGÖR, Scientist, Geologist and Academic, for a conference on “Queen of the Sciences: Geography”.

In the conference, he emphasized that the first scientific views on earth were put forward by Greek thinkers in the 6th century BC, and the works and views of some philosophers like Thales and Anaximandros about geography. Prof. ŞENGÖR also mentioned the effects of population growth and human activities on geographical events today, and of the damage they have done to the ecosystem.
